Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actress and producer. She has been recognized for her outstanding roles in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. The film Piano won her several awards which included an Oscar. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about performing. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. The actress was deaf in one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't permit this to deter her desire to be an actor. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure the role of a co-star for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
